In the Not So Silence
I sit in silence, asking the Lord to speak.
The cacophony of singing birds reminds me of His care for me; for He feeds the sparrows, and the birds find a home near His altar.
The chiming of the hour conjures sweet memories of the same grandfather clock announcing the time since my early days in my parents’ home. I reminisce with tender fondness my childhood days.
The golden flickering flame of the candle mirrors the ways God has continuously lit the path ahead for me.
The scent of cinnamon dances through the room as my husband delights in creating his tasty treasures this Sabbath morning to take over to the church; a reminder of his heart to serve.
Savoring the liquid gold swirling in my porcelain teacup transports me back to our life in England. Once there, the Lord beckons me to recall His goodness and faithfulness that lead me forward in faith for the future.
The gentle breeze of the overhead fan evokes the Spirit’s presence as He stirs my heart to continue to listen.
So many reminders that God speaks to us in the not so silence.
